The Wales Lesotho Link promotes a unique link between Wales and Lesotho in southern Africa. Its purpose is to build a relationship between the two national communities. It enables people in Wales to identify with, and get to know well, one particular country in the developing world.
Working directly with our partner organisation in Lesotho (the Lesotho Wales Link) we promote activities that link organisations, schools, villages, hospitals, districts, churches in both countries. As a Registered Charity, Dolen Cymru acts as adviser, co-ordinator and catalyst for the different link initiatives.
Dolen Cymru prides itself in not being an aid organisation for Lesotho, as we strongly believe that a reciprocal relationship is needed in order to promote international understanding and inter-cultural learning. Through working together with the people of Lesotho on an equal basis, Dolen Cymru enables people, organisations and institutions in both countries to learn from each other, share skills and together find solutions for the challenges facing their countries. Through our twice annual newsletters our Members get the chance to read about our work and how it is implemented and see just how important their support is.
When you become a Member of Dolen Cymru Lesotho not only are you supporting the work of Dolen and our partner organisation, Laquama Le Wales (Lesotho Wales Link), you will also receive a twice yearly newsletter on Dolen’s work, receive regular updates on any appeals, events or news and an invitation to attend the annual AGM.

Membership costs just £10 a year per individual or £15 for family membership.
If you would like to join as a School, Church or Organisation the cost is only £20 a year.

You are also able to support Dolen Cymru through Gift Aid, which is a tax relief on money donated to UK charities.
Donations are treated as if the donor had already deducted basic rate tax from them. The charity can then reclaim this tax to increase the value of a donation.
